Cold Weather Advisory 

Much of the United States is currently experiencing freezing or below-freezing temperatures, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this widespread cold snap.

For those on property at Cypress Cove, we’re expecting unusually cold overnight temperatures Saturday and Sunday, with forecasts showing freezing conditions lasting six hours or more. While this isn’t something we normally worry about here, those with experience in colder climates have taught us an important lesson: a trickle is not enough.

To help prevent frozen or burst pipes, residents and campers should leave a steady stream of water (about the thickness of a pencil) running from a faucet during the freezing hours — not just a drip.

In addition, please take a moment to protect what depends on you:

• Bring animals indoors or ensure they have a warm, sheltered space.
• Move outdoor plants inside or make sure they are securely covered.

These small steps can help prevent damage and avoid major issues for you and your neighbors. Thank you for helping us take proactive care of our community during this rare cold snap.

Chili & Soup Cook-Off Cornhole Fundraiser

Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 12–2 PM

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at the Chili & Soup Cook-Off Cornhole Fundraiser on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 12–2 PM at the cornhole courts behind Old Cheeks! Come hungry and ready to sample a variety of delicious homemade chilis and soups, cast your vote for your favorites, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Sample cups are just $1 each, desserts are $2, and after 2 PM, you can grab a take-home bowl for $5. Every taster receives one voting ticket to help crown the crowd favorite. We’ll also have a 50/50 raffle (tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5), door prizes, and plenty of community fun. Never played cornhole? No problem—stop by for a quick lesson between 12–2 PM and join in the fun. Bring your friends, bring your appetite, and come enjoy a great event for a great cause!

For those interested in competing in the cook-off, there is a $10 entry fee, with only 20 spots available. Register by January 25, 2026, to receive a free dessert coupon. Setup time is 11–11:30 AM, and all supplies will be provided, including tables, tents, ladles, and electricity. Prizes include $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place. What’s Up in the Sky?

Join us each month for a cosmic journey with The Naked Astronomer! On the first Sunday of every month at 11 AM in the Clubhouse, he’ll guide us through the wonders of the night sky with his Constellation of the Month presentation. Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just curious about what twinkles above, this engaging and easy-to-follow talk will leave you starstruck. Come discover the stories, science, and magic written in the stars!

Yoga with Mary

Join us for Yoga with Mary, hosted in the Cove’s Clubhouse from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on the dates below. Mary, one of our talented campers, is generously volunteering her time to guide you through a relaxing and energizing yoga practice.

Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just looking to stretch and unwind, this session is perfect for all skill levels. Bring your mat, a water bottle, and an open mind as we come together to embrace wellness and community spirit.

Join us at Cheeks Bar & Grill on Sunday, February 8 at 6:30 pm for our Super Bowl Watch Party with Venus! Mardi Gras Date Change – Mark Your Calendars!

The Mardi Gras Committee has an exciting update to share: this year’s Mardi Gras Celebration at Cypress Cove will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Why the change? We want to make sure no one misses out! By shifting the celebration just a bit, our Cove family can enjoy Mardi Gras in the best of both worlds:

• Those sailing away on the Nude Cruise will be back in time to join the festivities right here at home.
• Those planning to head to New Orleans can still soak in the Big Easy experience—and then relive it with us, Cove-style (and clothing optional!).

Mardi Gras at the Cove is all about celebration—and this move helps ensure more members and guests can join in the parades, beads, music, food, and fun that define the tradition. If you've already made reservations for the original dates, please give us a call at 407-933-5870 to change your dates.

Mark your calendars, dust off those masks and costumes, take note of the theme: Mardi Gras — Cove Style, and get ready to laissez les bon temps rouler—Cove-style—on March 3!

DRIVER SAFETY IS BACK!

Get ready to hit the road with confidence this spring! The AARP Driver Safety Class returns to Cypress Cove on Sunday, March 22, from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Clubhouse.

Learn updated driving techniques, crash-avoidance strategies, and defensive driving tips—all while earning a potential discount on your auto insurance.

Class size is limited to 20 students.

What to Bring:

• Your driver’s license

Have You Seen Us Lately?

Lisa, our Residential Property Manager, and Lynn Sinnott hosted a fun game, "CoveQuest" for the homeowners. It tested and updated our knowledge of living at the Cove. 

A great band, "The Jolly Rogers," kept the music coming at the Pirate Party at Lakeside Restaurant on Saturday night. 

There was a great turnout of pirates at Lakeside on Saturday night. 

The winners of the Dress Like a Pirate contest. 

There was a Community Rock Painting party on Sunday to help support a Junior National Honor Society Student project.  

Brown Lake is such a wonderful treasure for the members of Cypress Cove.
