Help Us Launch a Guest RC Sailing Experience
Over the past several weeks, we’ve had a number of visitors stop by Brown Lake while our RC Yacht Club members were sailing—and one thing has been clear: there’s a growing interest in getting out on the water and joining in.
To make this possible, the club is exploring the creation of a small “loaner fleet” of RC sailboats that guests could use during their stay. Club members would be available to provide basic instruction, making this a fun and approachable activity for both experienced sailors and curious first-timers.
At this stage, we’re reaching out to our community for support. If you have an unused RC sailboat—particularly a Soling—or know someone who might, we’d love to hear from you. The club is happy to assist with any needed repairs to get boats back in sailing condition.
This is a wonderful opportunity to add another unique and interactive experience for our guests here at the Cove.

Line Dancing Gets a Fresh New Schedule
Starting today, April 1, our Line Dancing classes at Cypress Cove will move to a brand-new schedule, making it even easier to step in, learn, and have fun. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just curious to try something new, these classes are a great way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy the rhythm of the Cove.
During the winter season, classes have been packed—filling the room with energy and enthusiasm. As we head into summer, we’re excited to welcome even more guests and members to discover this hidden gem class.
Keep an eye out for updated days and times on our website, and join us this summer as we shine a spotlight on one of our most fun and engaging weekly activities. No partner needed—just bring your smile and your best moves!
Volunteer Needed: Library Video Conversion Support
The Cove Library is seeking a volunteer to assist with converting our collection of VCR tapes and online videos into digital formats (MP4s and DVDs).
Our longtime volunteer, who has faithfully managed this project for years, is stepping away. While much of the work can be done from home, the role does require a visit to the Cove approximately once a month. Additional responsibilities include cataloging materials and printing labels at the library.
The current volunteer has generously offered to provide remote guidance and training to ensure a smooth transition.
This is a volunteer opportunity. If you’re interested in helping preserve and organize our library’s media collection, please contact paullevalley@peoplepc.com or stop by the library on Tuesday afternoons to learn more.
