Mardi Gras Celebration
by the Mardi Gras Committee
We had another great party! Congratulations to the Grand Prize Raffle winners who each took home a $750 prize. And we had 30 door prizes that were contributed by the kind folks below.
Thank you all! Please give these businesses your patronage:
FIG LEAF BOUTIQUE
O’REILLY’S AUTO PARTS
SILVER LINING MASSAGE
Thanks so much to Arnie and his staff for putting on another great buffet for us!
We also would like to thank all the Cove members who decorated lamp posts, went to the Coronation Ball and Pool Pardi, marched in the Parade and livened things up as Drag Queens.
We also greatly appreciate the financial and service support from the Cove for helping with planning, setup and donations of prizes and gifts.
We owe so much to those Cove members who worked hard for the cause: Jack and Gail for organizing the “Queens”, Linda the Door Prize guard, Anthony (what a DJ!), our body painting artists Kathleen, Joni, Pam, Sharon, Gene, France and helpers, plus those members who donated prizes.
Lastly, thank you all you supportive Cove members for coming out in droves to make our party so much fun!
Congratulations to King Jay and Queen Bonnie, our new royal couple!
BTW, we have a few unclaimed prizes left over from the celebration. This is your last chance to claim your prizes before they are rolled over into next year.

News from Ted
This weekend, we celebrate the spirit of NASCAR. But wasn't the race last weekend? Yes, yes it was. Unfortunately, we are so close to Daytona that most of our race fans actually go to the race. So we celebrate NASCAR the following weekend, when our race fans are more available.
The weekend kicks off with Suicide Karaoke w/ DJ Xavier on Friday night at Scuttlebutts. It's a mix of regular Karaoke and Suicide Karaoke. What's Suicide Karaoke? You don't know what you are going to sing until you get up there. You'll have a song picked randomly from a list of popular favorites and standards. It's a little nerve wracking, but fun. Plus you can win prizes for participating!
Have a fast golf cart? Then don't miss our Golf Cart Drag Race on Dahoon St., Saturday at noon. The fun continues a little later with Golf Cart Games on the Lakefront Lawn at 3 PM. One of the games is a blind rally. The driver is blindfolded and the passenger tries to navigate them through a cone course. It's way harder than it looks and always a hoot!
Make reservations at Lakeside for Dinner & Dancing w/ Live Country Music by Sequel starting at 7 PM. Sequel has been here a few times. They are a very good party band. You'll have a great time.
Extended Pool Hours
We hope you are enjoying our new extended pool hours on the weekends. I wanted to ensure that everybody has a great time and that we offer great service to our guests. So we have added a second Pool Attendant on weekend nights.
This second Pool Attendant will be available to help guests with anything they need. He will be strictly stationed at the Pool Area, so he will always be easy to find. And, most importantly, he will be staying late so the pool can stay open later on the weekends.
If the weather's bad, or no one is around anyway, he probably won't stay too late. But if a crowd comes over from the dance and wants to take a dip in the hot tub, no one will be running them off at 1:30 AM. I think that's a good thing!
A few of our residents have arranged for a small Farmer's Market to visit the Cove on Wednesdays, 11 AM - 2 PM. Our first vendor's name is Robin and she has a farm in St. Cloud. She will start next Wednesday, March 4th.
Her vegetables are all natural and she usually has what's in season. At the farmers market in Kissimmee this past Thursday, she had beets, pole beans, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, onions, corn on the cob, strawberries and mangoes. She'll set up in the area near the basketball court, across from the mailboxes. Please bring CASH - you can use the ATM machine in the office!
We may also have someone coming out with fresh baked bread and jam. We didn't want to start off with too many vendors at the outset. If it appears we have a lot of demand, we may try to get one or two more.
New Website - Still need info
The new website is coming along nicely. I'm hoping to be able to launch it very soon. I have a pages for Clubs and another for Classes offered at Cypress Cove. I'd just like a sentence or two describing each of these clubs or classes. If I don't receive anything, I'll have to remove that entry from the list. Here's what I still would like a very small write up about:
BINGO, Bridge, Coupon Clippers, Cove Players, Cove Singers, Euchre, and Quilt Club
I also need: Power Walk w/ Debi, Tony Little Resistance Workout w/ Debi, Water Exercises, and Yoga / Qigong
Not everyone involved with these clubs or classes will receive this email. If you are involved with one of these groups, or know who is, please encourage them to submit a short write up. Thank you!
Around the Cove This Week
The Parrothead Lite weekend was a great success with nice weather and lots people having fun
The Parrothead Band rocked Lakeside on Saturday night and then the Pool on Sunday afternoon
A mermaid greeted the returning cruise people and reminded them to check their Mardi Gras raffle tickets for a winner
Anything odd here? :)
Looks like someone can’t read! No, that is Dan, the Cove’s approved event photographer, so everything is OK!

Some of our guests in Nicaragua!
"While on a trip to Nicaragua, we all wore our "Ask me about Cypress Cove" tee shirts. One of the staff at Hacienda Iguana intends on visiting The Cove this fall as a result of our conversation. :)
What a great conversation starter these shirts are!
William, Janet, and Mickey Gates"
By the way, I just want to thank everyone for doing this. It has been so much fun getting new pictures from exotic locations all over the US and the world! We have the absolute best, most loyal members I can imagine. I am so grateful.
